Someone else brought this to my attention. It was pointed out to me how a web site can be affected by robots, worms, and other pests. I see them trying to register on the message board on my site. But I was wondering if there is anyway I can detect, monitor, and even remove these pests if I have them embedded in my site? Everything runs smoothly, but I don't want to cause myself or others any problems.

Basically - don't allow anyone to upload scripts (such as Java) onto your account. On a message board, if you basically let them add text (and not lots of html or links etc) then you should be fine.

Thanks. I saw on my stats that googlebots and other worms have taken up page views, etc. These spammers and bots are always trying to sign up for accounts and post links on the message board. Other than chasing them off, I have had no problems.
