TCH-Thomas
A vulnerability has been reported in Coppermine Photo Gallery, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct script insertion attacks.

EXIF data stored in certain image files are not properly sanitised before being displayed to users. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site when malicious EXIF data are viewed.

The vulnerability has been reported in versions prior to 1.3.4.

Get version 1.3.4 here

Thanks Thomas!

The upgrade from 1.3.3 was painless and quick. I think it took about 5 minutes total for me today.

Thanks Thomas.

How do you upgrade?

I'm currently using 1.3.3 and I just figured out how to use it a few months ago.

Can anyone explain to me how to upgrade?
TCH-Don
When you download the zip file from the link above
unzip to a folder on your computer
and go into the docs folder
and click on the index.html file
and look at the upgrade instructions.

3.4 Upgrading from cpg1.2.0 (or better) to version cpg1.3.4

I must be an idiot because I can't figure out how to do it from the instructions. I had to use the step by step instructions on the TCH help section to get Coppermine to work for me.

I wanna upgrade, but I still can't figure it out.

Can't you just unzip the the new version into your directory for each album? Like I had to with version 1.3.3?

I'm just so confused here sad.gif

Not really. You'll wipe out your configuration file (config.inc.php) and stand a good chance of wiping out your albums as well if the upgrade instructions are not followed.

I may have to redo all of them. Because I can't figure out how to upgrade from their instructions. I couldn't figure out how to install it from their instructions.

Is there any way TCH is going to offer an upgrading tutorial like they did an installing tutorial?
TCH-Thomas
I think an upgrading tutorial could be a bit problematic to do since different upgrades are done differently, depending on what to update, sometimes its the whole package and sometimes just file or two that is changed.

But I will see if I can write down some usefull hints (since I did the original tutorial). smile.gif

Hi Thomas,

That would be great and very much appreciated. I have upgraded Coppermine once but I am never quite sure if I fully understand the instructions. sweatdrop.gif
