Switching My Sites? wordpress in fantastico

I've been working on a new site with wordpress and almost ready to switch over. Just wanted to know what is the procedure to swap my old site and use the newer one which is wordpress in fantastico?

I´ll assume you will using the same domain, if so you will need to:

1) make a backup of the directory/folder that is currently your wordpress site (called wordpress in this example) and download it to your own computer.
2) extract the backup
3) remove all current files in public_html
4) reupload the files and subfolders in the wordpress directory/folder.
5) enjoy your new site.

guess that sounds a little different then i thought.
my site is signatures.com and right now i have wordpress on the back end, signatures.com/wordpress1

Yes, that is what I thought. :)

Then basically you will only need to replace whats in the public_html folder with the files and folders in the folder wordpress1.

can i drag the wordpress folder into the public folder? or does that not work. thanks, dave

No, that wouldn't work. But you can download the whole folder to a folder on your hard drive and zip it up. Then empty your public_html folder and upload the zip file to it and uncompress it using the File Manager in cPanel. Or you can open a ticket with the help desk and they can move the files for you.
