I realize this has been discussed heavily, so if these aren't new suggestions feel free to let me know and refuse to answer them.
With PHP 5 having been out for so long now, and many of todays applications beginning to require it, I am surprised that TCH has no plan to migrate. How about making some new servers available with PHP5 so that new or existing customers can choose or migrate to them? How about running both versions and making PHP 5 available via an .htaccess directive on a directory by directory basis, or using the .php5 extension for those who would like to use it? It seems like you'll be loosing customers in this day and age with no upgrade strategy. With a huge embedded user base I can also see why you can't just upgrade all at once.

Currently there are no plans to migrate to PHP5.

This topic hasn't just been discussed heavily, it's been beaten to death, and this thread is probably only one or two posts away from being locked just like every other PHP5 thread.
However, you do bring up a good point in offering PHP5 on new servers. TCH has announced that Ruby on Rails will only be available on new servers due to the difficulty in deploying it on old servers. The same logic could apply to PHP5 - I don't think anyone would disagree that upgrading existing production servers could cause a lot of headache for the installed user base, but offering it on brand new servers to brand new customers and those that want to migrate seems worth considering.
That said, there is a lot on the plate right now with all the things mentioned in the Big Announcement so I wouldn't hold my breathe.

I'm not sure if it's kosher to ask this here, but I know people who trust this outfit and am wondering if there are any recommendations of other hosting companies that do offer PHP5 support since I need it? I'm leery about trusting some top-10 rating sites that look like they were set up by the companies they are recommending and all say basically the same things.
