I'm getting ready to install osCommerce into my site. I noticed TCH offers it as an addon. Would it be better for me to install it from there and upgrade to Update 051113, or should I install Update 051113 fresh.
Would installing the most recent package downloaded from osCommerce mess up the shared server I'm on?

I would download and install the latest version.

And that won't mess up the shared server?
This whole "install" nomenclature brings up the idea of embedding itself in the registry of whatever computer it's running on. Maybe I'm just paranoid (since I know plenty of other TCH users have this shopping cart), but I'd hate to mess up someone else's site.
Perhaps using "Setup" or "Configure" on their "Install" page would put me at ease.

TCH offers this by a CPANEL install, which installs itself into your directory only. It is exactley the same as the install which you will download from the main OScommerce website.
Like TCH-Bruce above, I would suggest downloading it from thier main website and uploading it to yours so that you have "THE" latest version.
You will not damage our servers by doing so!
