Paypal And Pear

I'm wanting to use the new PayPal Website Payments Pro, but I have noticed that "PEAR" isn't installed or part of the running processes listed when I do a phpinfo command. What do I need to do to get this up and running?

As I see by this post on pear it should be.
And as indicated you could always install it on yoursite too.
