A big advantage of using a Comodo SSL certificate is the fact that you can purchase a 1 year SSL certificate. While SSL certificates generated by Let’s encrypt need to be renewed every 90 days.

Let’s encrypt is a free, automated, and open certificate authority, by default, if you purchase shared or reseller hosting with us this service is enabled within your Cpanel account.

Dedicated SSL vs. Let's Encrpt

While Let's Encrypt provides great value for smaller non mission-critical websites such as family websites or personal blogs. Let's Encrypt doesn't provide the same coverage and reliability that a Dedicated SSL provides.  Simply put, Businesses and Mission Critical websites should be using a Dedicated SSL certificate in all situations whereas hobbiests and personal websites may be able to get by with just using Let's Encrypt.  Although Let's Encrypt SSL certificates provide basic SSL encryption, they lack many of the benefits of certificates issued by established CA (certificate authority) SSL providers, including:

• Only DV SSL certificates: Let's Encrypt depend on the domain name resolving to the server where the certificate is requested to complete the validation process. So Let’s Encrypt certificates will not be issued without the DNS publicly resolving to the server.
• Extended validity: Let's Encrypt certificates are only valid for 90 days and must be renewed frequently. By contrast, most traditional SSL certificates are valid for at least one year, with the option of longer validity periods (for example, three years).
• Warranty: Let's Encrypt certificates do not include a warranty, whereas traditional SSL certificates usually do.
